KP cabinet approves tax relief for Malakand, ex-Fata

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved significant measures, including sales tax relief for local service providers and industrial undertakings in the Malakand division and former tribal areas. This move aims to stimulate economic activity in these regions.

During the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi highlighted the government's revenue target of Rs180 billion for the current fiscal year, expressing confidence in its achievement through enhanced revenue mobilization. He urged cabinet members to maintain direct interaction with the public to understand ground realities and address people's problems and service delivery shortcomings.

He also voiced concern over the health of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan, accusing the federal government and prison administration of neglect and demanding access to personal physicians, family, and lawyers.

Information Minister Shafi Jan announced further welfare measures, including an increase in the Ehsaas Naujawan Programme allocation from Rs3 billion to Rs5 billion to support youth entrepreneurship. Additionally, the cabinet approved grants for model schools in the merged districts and for Langlands School and College in Chitral.
