KPK Launches Anti-Corruption Musical Drama 'Sidik' in Jakarta

The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is stepping into the spotlight with an innovative anti-corruption campaign, using the power of musical theater. Titled "Sidik," the production is set to captivate audiences from December 4-6 at the Teater Besar Taman Ismail Marzuki in Jakarta.

This artistic endeavor is part of the KPK's broader initiative leading up to World Anti-Corruption Day on December 9. Director of Socialization and Anti-Corruption Campaigns, Amir Arief, announced that six performances are scheduled over three days. While two initial shows on December 4 are reserved for invited guests, including anti-corruption activists, educators, and stakeholders, the remaining four performances on December 5 and 6 will be open to the general public.

The KPK has partnered with Da Lopez Entertainment, led by content creators Jovial and Andovi da Lopez, for this campaign. Arief explained that the collaboration was secured through a direct appointment procurement mechanism, adhering to government regulations.

This partnership also allows for paid public performances managed by Da Lopez Entertainment, separate from KPK's funding, to accommodate a larger audience. The KPK will fund two invited-guest sessions, while Da Lopez Entertainment will manage the remaining four public shows.

Andovi da Lopez revealed that the musical's premise centers on the life of a KPK investigator and a corruption case handled by the agency. "My brother Jo, our team, and I wrote 'Sidik,' and it's about a corruption case in Indonesia, which I cannot spoil," he said.
