KPK: Muara Enim Officials Prepared Funds to Bribe Audit Board

Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that officials from the Muara Enim regional government allegedly prepared funds to bribe the State Audit Board (BPK). The alleged bribe was intended to manipulate the audit results of the local government's financial reports for the 2025 fiscal year.

According to KPK's Acting Director of Investigation, Achmad Taufik Husein, the funds were received from Fika, a private sector director at PT Millenium Solusi Abadi, through her marketing representative, Cory Erin Hardi. Both Fika and Cory were involved in providing interactive whiteboards for the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office.

Husein stated that Cory provided approximately Rp500 million (around $33,000 USD) to Abi Nurwardani, the Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office, who acted as the regional government's representative. Approximately Rp200 million of this amount was allegedly distributed by Abi to Augusz Dewanggara, identified as a private individual named Angga, and another person with the initials MYN, both reportedly linked to the BPK.

The KPK arrested 10 people in a sting operation on June 7-8, 2026, including Muara Enim Regent Edison. On June 9, 2026, the KPK officially named four suspects in the alleged bribery case, which involves procurement of goods and services and other receipts within the Muara Enim regional government for the 2025-2026 fiscal years.
