Prabowo Praises Judiciary's Digital Access and Efficiency

President Prabowo Subianto lauded the Indonesian judiciary's performance, highlighting the Supreme Court's remarkable speed in resolving cases and the Constitutional Court's enhanced digital accessibility. Speaking at the annual session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) in Jakarta, Prabowo noted the significant achievements of these judicial bodies.

He reported that the Supreme Court processed and decided 37,973 out of 38,148 cases in 2025, achieving a 99.54% productivity rate. Notably, 96.74% of these cases were resolved within three months, marking the highest punctuality rate in the court's history. Prabowo extended commendation to the Chief Justice and the court's staff for this accomplishment.

The Constitutional Court also received praise for its transformation in service delivery. By July 23, 2026, 84.51% of applications submitted to the court were made online. This digital shift has significantly eased access for citizens across Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua, eliminating the need for frequent travel to Jakarta to file constitutional petitions, including those related to regional election disputes.

Despite the praise, Prabowo also stressed the importance of judicial oversight. He mentioned that the Judicial Commission received 1,402 public reports and 622 requests for trial monitoring between January and June 2026. The commission proposed sanctions for 121 judges found to have violated ethical codes, indicating ongoing efforts to maintain judicial integrity alongside efficiency.
