KPK Reveals Unknown Parties Met Kuansing Regent During Arrest Operation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that unidentified individuals met with the Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Suhardiman Amby, during a sting operation. KPK investigators were actively searching for Suhardiman and the Kuansing Regional Secretary, Zulkarnain, at the time.

Achmad Taufik Husein, the Acting Director of Investigation at KPK, stated that the information about individuals meeting Suhardiman was known to the team on the ground. However, the primary focus at that moment was locating the two key officials from the Kuansing Regency Government. The KPK team initially searched the official residences and several offices of the Kuansing Regency Government but could not find them. Based on the situation, the team strongly suspected that Suhardiman and Zulkarnain had left the Kuansing Regency area. Consequently, the KPK divided its teams to continue the search into the Pekanbaru, Riau region.

The sting operation, conducted on June 29, 2026, targeted areas in Kuansing Regency and Jakarta, resulting in the apprehension of 10 individuals. This operation marked the 14th sting operation by the KPK in 2026. Of the 10 individuals detained, five were brought to the KPK's Red and White Building for intensive questioning. These included three private individuals, one civil servant from the Kuansing Regency Government, and Suhardiman's wife, Suci Nitia Edwar.

Following the operation, the KPK requested Suhardiman and Zulkarnain to surrender by June 30, 2026. They complied with the request and were subsequently picked up by KPK investigators at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Banten. On July 1, 2026, the KPK officially named three individuals as suspects in a bribery case concerning the alleged sale of positions within the Kuansing Regency Government. The suspects are Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and Ardiles, the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant. In addition to the alleged bribery for position trading, the KPK is also investigating alleged gratuities received by Suhardiman, possibly related to the processing of the release of limited production forest areas.
