Kraljevo Declares Day of Mourning After Five-Year-Old Girl's Death in Traffic Accident

The city of Kraljevo has declared Thursday, August 27, a day of mourning to honor a five-year-old girl who tragically died from injuries sustained in a traffic accident. The incident occurred Monday evening on Ulica Četvrtog kraljevačkog bataljona.

The fatal accident happened when a driver lost control of their vehicle, veering off the road and into a group of pedestrians. The young girl succumbed to her severe injuries. Her 32-year-old mother and one-year-old sister, who was in a stroller, were also seriously injured.

Authorities have taken action following the incident. The Higher Court in Kraljevo ordered a detention period of up to 30 days for the suspect, identified as A.J., aged 26, from Kraljevo. He is suspected of committing a serious offense against public traffic safety.

The prosecution has initiated an investigation against A.J. The charges include offenses against the now-deceased minor, B.V., born in 2021, as well as against minors B.A. (born 2025), B.D., and B.S., and M.D., who sustained injuries in the collision.
