Krejcikova eliminates Roland Garros champion Andreeva from Wimbledon

Czech player Barbora Krejcikova has knocked this year's French Open champion, Mirra Andreeva, out of Wimbledon. Krejcikova, who won Wimbledon two years ago, defeated the young Russian star 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 in a match lasting two hours and 44 minutes.

Andreeva, coached by Spain's Conchita Martínez and ranked fifth in the world, exited the All England Club after a challenging encounter. She arrived in London without any grass-court victories this season, having lost her opening match at the Bad Homburg tournament. After defeating Magda Linette in her Wimbledon debut, Andreeva struggled against Krejcikova, whom she had only beaten once in their previous four meetings.

The Russian player displayed visible frustration, throwing her racket at her chair after the match concluded. Despite saving six match points before her eventual defeat, Andreeva could not overcome Krejcikova. The Czech player, a former world number two, will now face her compatriot Nikola Bartunkova in the third round.
