Kuwait arrests 16 suspects in 9 drug cases, seizing meth, Captagon, and cash

Kuwaiti authorities have apprehended 16 suspects across nine distinct cases involving drug trafficking and use, following intensive monitoring and investigations by the General Directorate for Drug Control. The Ministry of Interior reported that the suspects were found in possession of various narcotic and psychotropic substances intended for both distribution and personal consumption.

The operations led to a substantial seizure of illicit drugs, including 3 kilograms and 35 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 15 grams of heroin, and 11 grams of hashish. Additionally, authorities confiscated 2 grams of a chemical substance, 96 papers laced with chemical liquid, and 2,502 Captagon tablets. The haul also included 81 tablets and capsules containing psychoactive substances, three digital scales, and KD 960 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking.

In a notable operation, drug control officers successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle crystal methamphetamine into Kuwait. Through detailed investigations, officers identified a postal shipment containing the narcotic substance, which had been concealed within the package. Authorities tracked the shipment, apprehending the suspect immediately after they received it. A further quantity of crystal methamphetamine, allegedly intended for distribution, was also found in the suspect's possession.

All arrested suspects and the confiscated items have been handed over to the relevant judicial authorities for necessary legal proceedings. The Ministry of Interior affirmed its commitment to combating drug-related crimes and ensuring the safety and security of the nation.
