Kuwait Cabinet Reviews Amir's Calls, Condemns Iranian Attacks

Kuwait's government convened on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah presiding over the weekly cabinet meeting. The session's key discussions and decisions were later outlined by Deputy Prime Minister Sherida Abdullah Al-Mausherji.

During the meeting, the cabinet reviewed significant phone calls received by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Notably, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reassured Kuwait's leadership and people, condemning continued Iranian attacks on Kuwaiti territory and expressing solidarity. The cabinet also noted a call from UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who congratulated the Amir on assuming office. The Amir reciprocated, wishing the British Prime Minister success. Additionally, a call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's firm support for Kuwait's security and sovereignty.

In a move toward international cooperation, the cabinet reviewed a new contract with the People's Republic of China, described as the second agreement of its kind. The contract was signed by Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Mashaan in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait. The meeting also included a condemnation of the Iranian attacks.
