Kuwait condemns Houthi Red Sea attacks, backs Saudi Arabia

Kuwait has strongly condemned the repeated attacks by Houthi militias on ships in the Red Sea, denouncing them as a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to maritime navigation and international trade security. The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Sunday expressing full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supporting all measures the kingdom takes to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its interests.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry on Sunday strongly condemned and denounced the repeated attacks by the Houthi militia on ships in the Red Sea, the last of which was on Saudi ship NCA MASA while sailing in the Red Sea.

The ministry stressed the necessity of adhering to international law to ensure the freedom and safety of navigation in international waterways. This condemnation comes as Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for firing missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia. The rebels stated these attacks were in retaliation for Saudi airstrikes on the strategic Red Sea city of Hodeida, escalating tensions over vital shipping routes in the Middle East.
