Kuwait Embassy in Mexico Issues Travel Advisory Ahead of FIFA World Cup

The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Mexico has issued a travel advisory for its citizens intending to visit Mexico for the FIFA World Cup, urging them to adhere to local regulations and travel requirements for a safe and seamless experience.

The embassy stressed the importance of securing a Mexican visa prior to travel or possessing an entry-valid document, such as a U.S., Canadian, UK, Japanese, or Schengen Area visa, or permanent residency from these regions. It clarified that the U.S. Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is not accepted for entry into Mexico. Travelers must ensure their passports are valid for at least six months, carry confirmed return flight tickets, hotel reservations, and valid health insurance.

Safety recommendations include remaining within designated tourist zones, refraining from displaying large amounts of cash or valuables, and avoiding crowded or unrest-prone areas. The advisory also advises using licensed ride-hailing services and purchasing event tickets, including for World Cup matches, exclusively through official channels.

Further guidance covers customs regulations, including declaring cash exceeding US$10,000, restrictions on electronic cigarettes, and limits on the number of personal computers allowed. Travelers are also reminded to carry prescriptions for any medications and to keep digital and printed copies of all essential travel documents. The embassy urged citizens to contact them immediately in case of emergencies.
