Kuwait releases airport attack video, blames Iran for drone strike

Kuwait's government has released video footage of what it describes as a drone attack on Kuwait International Airport's Terminal 1, asserting that Iran was behind the assault. The Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) shared a 1-minute, 9-second video on X, formerly Twitter, showing the aftermath of the incident.

The footage captures an explosion near airport facilities, with smoke billowing and people seen in a hasty evacuation. The DGCA stated the video shows the moment an Iranian-made Shahed drone targeted the airport terminal. This release follows the government's announcement that the terminal was damaged by a drone and missile attack early the previous day.

The attack claimed one life and injured around 60 people. Significant facilities, including diplomatic missions, reportedly sustained damage. Kuwaiti authorities emphasized that the attack directly targeted civilian aviation infrastructure, posing a severe threat to airport operations and passenger safety.
