Kuwait's Adan Hospital successfully treats rare congenital bile duct condition

A Kuwaiti woman in her 40s has fully recovered after undergoing a complex procedure at Adan Hospital to treat a rare congenital bile duct obstruction. The Ministry of Health announced the successful intervention, led by Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Dr. Yousef Al-Tawalah.

The medical team, which included Interventional Radiology Consultant Dr. Mahdi Abbas and other specialists, managed the extremely rare anatomical abnormality. Following the procedure, the patient's liver function and enzyme levels returned to normal, and she was discharged in good health.
