Kuwait Squash Federation unveils 2026-27 season calendar

The Kuwait Squash Federation has set out a 2026-27 season running from Sept. 13 through May 20, 2027, with the postponed Federation Cup scheduled to open the campaign.

Federation Secretary-General and Competitions Committee Chairman Hamed Al-Omran presented the calendar at a coordination meeting attended by representatives of 12 of Kuwait’s 14 clubs. The 12-day Federation Cup will be followed immediately by the National Singles Championship.

The meeting also considered a proposal to reopen registration for foreign players after a four-year suspension. Under the proposal, each club could register one foreign player born in Kuwait. Al-Omran said the Competitions Committee would review the proposal before submitting it to the federation board for a final decision. He said the aim was to support clubs and raise the standard of domestic competition.

The Federation Cup draw is due to take place at the federation’s headquarters this week. The tournament will include seven age categories, including a women’s category.

Kuwait Club’s women’s team will also return to domestic competition after missing the past two seasons. The team won both the league and cup titles during the first women’s season six years ago, and its return is expected to intensify the local tournaments.
