KWAM 1 stirs reactions with ‘unnecessary pregnancy’ song amid paternity allegation

Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has ignited controversy on social media following a performance where he sang about "unnecessary pregnancy." This occurred just days after a woman publicly accused him of abandoning her and their 12-year-old daughter.

The allegations surfaced in a viral interview with Ogechi Eleana, who claims KWAM 1 refused to acknowledge paternity of their daughter, Azeezat. Eleana, a former manicurist and pedicurist for the singer, stated they dated for over seven years. She alleges that upon informing him of her pregnancy, KWAM 1 urged her to terminate it and promised financial assistance for the abortion, which she claims never materialized. According to Eleana, he ceased communication after she decided to keep the pregnancy.

Eleana also recounted seeking intervention from the late Kabiru Agbabiaka, who allegedly contacted KWAM 1 on her behalf. She further described a meeting with KWAM 1's late mother, who reportedly became emotional upon seeing the child, Azeezat, noting the resemblance. Azeezat herself alleged that she last saw the singer on July 30, 2025, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, where he reportedly denied knowing them. She appealed for financial support, stating she heard he is a "billionaire, if not a trillionaire."

The performance in question took place during the 10th coronation anniversary of the Onikate of Ikate, Oba Lateef Adams. During the event, KWAM 1 sang, "Anybody who has an unnecessary pregnancy is just like a giveaway." While the timing of the song, shortly after the allegations surfaced, has led many to interpret it as a direct response to Eleana's claims, KWAM 1 himself has not explicitly stated that the song was directed at the situation. The musician's lyrics have fueled further debate and divided public opinion online.
