My ex-wife lied about being a virgin before marriage — Nollywood actor Jimmy Rolland

Nollywood actor Jimmy Rolland has publicly shared a deeply personal and painful experience, alleging his former wife deceived him about her virginity before their wedding. Rolland described the revelation on their wedding night as one of his life's greatest disappointments.

I am not a fool. I saw signs, but I was hypnotised by my mother-in-law.

Speaking on the African A-List podcast, Rolland admitted he saw warning signs before the marriage but felt "hypnotized" by his mother-in-law. He revealed that both his mother and friends had advised against the union after conducting spiritual consultations, but he disregarded their concerns.

My mother and friends made spiritual consultations and warned me not to marry her, but I did not listen.

Rolland stated that he and his ex-wife dated for four years, during which she repeatedly claimed to be a virgin. He respected her wishes, refraining from intimacy until after their wedding. However, he claims that on their wedding night, he discovered this was untrue.

She told me she was a virgin, so I did not bother to make attempts to make love to her. We dated for four good years.

The actor expressed his devastation and admitted he considered ending the relationship immediately. Reflecting on the marriage's eventual breakdown, Rolland highlighted the most painful aspect: losing access to their two children. He claims the emotional distress from this separation contributed to him suffering a stroke, with his mother reportedly still mourning the absence of her grandchildren.
