Kwara APC resumes ‘thank-you’ tour, assures candidates of victory

Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have recommenced their statewide "thank-you" tour, shifting their focus to the Kwara Central Senatorial District after completing engagements in the southern zone. The tour, which began in Afon, the headquarters of Asa Local Government Area, on Saturday, also included a visit to Ilorin West Local Government Area.

The delegation, headed by the party's governorship candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, was warmly received in both local government areas. They were greeted by a combination of traditional rulers, government officials, religious leaders, and enthusiastic party supporters.

When we heard you were coming to Ilorin West, the Emir of Ilorin, under whom this local government is, mandated us to receive you.

In Ilorin West, the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Dr. Usman Abubakar Atolagbe Jos, spoke on behalf of the Emir of Ilorin. He described the visit as a significant demonstration of respect for the traditional institution and offered prayers for the success of the APC candidates in the upcoming polls. Atolagbe conveyed the Emir's directive for traditional title holders to gather and receive the delegation, emphasizing their support and praying for the candidates' electoral success and the smooth completion of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administration.

Similarly, in Asa, the District Head of Balah, Alhaji Kolapo Abdulkadir, led other district heads in welcoming the APC delegation. He also offered prayers for the electoral success of Danladi and other party candidates, pledging their support.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Danladi expressed gratitude to the traditional rulers, religious leaders, and party stakeholders for their unwavering support. He conveyed confidence that this support would translate into electoral victory for the APC. Danladi also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, stating that it had made considerable progress and deserved a second term to ensure continuity. He assured the people of Ilorin West that the party remained committed to their interests and would not let them down.

Hon. Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya, the member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency and an APC candidate, echoed the sentiment of confidence, predicting an APC win in the 2027 elections. He suggested that the people of Kwara would not wish to revert to the past.
