Kyrgyzstan allocates 20 million soms for 2026 flu vaccines

Kyrgyzstan has allocated 20 million soms to buy influenza vaccines for 2026, the state pharmaceutical company Kyrgyzpharmatsiya told 24.kg.

The funding follows a request from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision. It will cover 63,733 vaccine doses, which officials expect to deliver to warehouses by Oct. 1, 2026.

The Health Ministry will examine procurement volumes and needs for 2027 at a working meeting scheduled for Sept. 8. Doctors say the seasonal respiratory-virus period usually runs from October to March, while flu cases typically appear from late November through January and peak in December and January. They advise people to get vaccinated before the season begins.
