Kyrgyzstan Compares Engineering Survey Methods with International Practices

Kyrgyzstan is testing two engineering survey methods at the site of a 14-story residential building under construction on Shevchenko Street in Bishkek. The Department of Engineering Surveys is comparing methods used in the country with approaches used abroad, the Ministry of Construction said.

One company carried out drilling under Kyrgyzstan’s current regulatory and technical standards. A second used technology developed by a Chinese corporation and based on standards adopted in China. Similar approaches are also used in Europe and the United States.

The teams drilled to a depth of 29 meters. Specialists are comparing drilling speed, technology, sample quality, equipment and the results obtained. The ministry said tests under real-world conditions would help assess the effectiveness of the different methods and determine prospects for their further use in Kyrgyzstan.
