Kyrgyzstan Cultivates Zero Tolerance for Violence, Especially Against Children

In Kyrgyzstan, a concerted effort is underway to cultivate a society that rejects violence in all its manifestations, with a particular focus on protecting children. Asel Chynbaeva, the authorized representative for children's rights, highlighted this commitment during an interview with "Birinchi Radio." The nation is currently engaged in the second phase of an informational caravan dedicated to preventing violence against children.

We choose schools and those areas where the prevention of violence against children is most needed. Schools are an excellent platform where people learn to communicate and solve problems.

This caravan strategically targets schools and regions where the need for such preventive measures is most acute. Chynbaeva noted that schools serve as excellent platforms for teaching communication and conflict resolution skills. Since the beginning of the year, the initiative has reached over 2,800 children and more than 1,500 parents across 22 general education schools. Psychologists involved in the program have visited various districts, including Kochkor, Issyk-Ata, and Jeti-Oguz. Future plans include extending the caravan's reach to the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan, such as Osh Oblast and the Suzak and Nooken districts, starting in the autumn.

Chynbaeva acknowledged the challenges in reaching every school due to the demanding nature of the work, which requires significant physical and emotional energy from the specialists. Encouragingly, children have shown a greater willingness to openly discuss their problems and express their needs. The campaign's core objective is to establish robust, safe behavioral models within society and to promote responsible parenting practices. This focus on community-wide behavioral change reflects a deep-seated commitment to creating a safer environment for all citizens, especially the most vulnerable.
