Kyrgyzstan harvests 31 percent of grain crops amid ongoing agricultural efforts

Kyrgyzstan has completed the harvest of 31 percent of its grain crop areas, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry reported on July 23, 2026. The ongoing harvest campaign is a key focus for the ministry, which is working to ensure its timely completion and provide necessary organizational and technical support to agricultural producers.

Alongside the harvest efforts, the ministry is actively engaged in maintaining a stable epizootic situation. Comprehensive preventive and veterinary-sanitary measures are being implemented to support livestock health and development. This includes oversight of the Service of Veterinary Medicine's work in the first half of 2026.

In a move towards modernization, Kyrgyzstan has integrated its "Tulpar" information system with Russia's "Mercury" system. This integration facilitates the issuance of electronic veterinary accompanying documents, streamlining processes and enhancing transparency in the veterinary service sector.

Minister Erlist Akunbekov has directed his departments to intensify efforts in several key areas. These include the rational use of pastures, effective control of weed vegetation, and the implementation of the "Orderly Field" project. He also emphasized the need to increase the efficiency of projects funded under the preferential agricultural lending program. Structural unit leaders are tasked with ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of these directives, bolstering support for farmers and agricultural producers.
