Kyrgyzstan launches mobile Hepatitis B vaccinations for organized workforces

Kyrgyzstan has introduced a mobile Hepatitis B vaccination program targeting organized workforces, aiming to boost immunization rates by bringing vaccines directly to employees. Director of the Republican Center for Control of Hemocontact Viral Hepatitis and HIV, Umutkan Chokmorova, explained that traditional clinic hours often conflict with work and weekend responsibilities, hindering vaccination efforts. "In connection with this, we launched mobile vaccination, and it yielded good results," Chokmorova stated. She reported that from May to June, 32,000 more people were vaccinated compared to the same period last year. The program offers the Hepatitis B vaccine free of charge to individuals over 23 with a negative test result. Since the free vaccination campaign began, 446,300 people have received their first dose, 358,200 their second, and 250,500 their third. Deputy Minister of Health Gulbara Ishenapysova also emphasized the importance of timely vaccination, particularly for children under two, as per the national immunization schedule. She urged citizens to ensure they and their children receive all necessary vaccine doses, noting that some parents refuse vaccinations for various reasons.
