Kyrgyzstan Native Honored with 'Special Happiness' Award

Aisulu Aitimbekova, a public figure and chairwoman of the "Union of Patient Communities" organization, has been named a laureate of the All-Russian "Special Happiness" award for 2026. She represented Kyrgyzstan on an international level and received recognition for her significant contributions to defending the rights of children with disabilities and advancing an inclusive society. According to her close associates, the award organizers reviewed over 400 applications from Russia and CIS countries this year. Following a competitive selection process, 12 laureates were chosen across 10 nominations. Aitimbekova stated that the award is not only a personal acknowledgment but also a testament to years of dedicated work in Kyrgyzstan, focused on protecting the rights of children with disabilities and supporting their families. "This is a recognition of the work of all parents who go through a difficult path every day, fighting for decent education, quality medical care, inclusion, the observance of their children's legal rights, and their full participation in society," she noted. Aitimbekova expressed her gratitude to the award organizers and all who supported her nomination. She believes that receiving this award will serve as a powerful incentive for her continued efforts in developing an inclusive society and advocating for the interests of families raising children with disabilities. The "Special Happiness" award was established in 2020 in the Astrakhan region. Its primary goal is to provide support and public recognition to parents, guardians, and legal representatives of children with disabilities. It also aims to foster initiatives related to inclusive education and the protection of the rights of children with special needs.
