Kyrgyzstan plans fish farming cluster for Toktogul reservoir

Kyrgyzstan is exploring the creation of a comprehensive fish farming cluster at the Toktogul reservoir, a project designed to encompass the entire production cycle from farming to export.

The proposed cluster would include fish farming operations, the production of fish feed, processing of the catch, and the subsequent export of finished fish products. This concept was discussed at the National Investment Agency during a meeting involving the agency's director, Ravshanbek Sabirov, a representative from Prime Fish, Zhyrgalbek Orozaliev, and Turkish aquaculture engineer Erdem Faruk.

Discussions focused on integrating modern technologies, developing the necessary production infrastructure, and attracting investment for the project. Currently, the initiative is in its development phase. Ravshanbek Sabirov affirmed the National Investment Agency's commitment to supporting projects that contribute to regional development, foster new industries, and enhance the country's export capabilities.

The participants agreed to continue collaborating on the project and refine the implementation mechanisms. The initiative aims to leverage the Toktogul reservoir for sustainable aquaculture and boost Kyrgyzstan's agricultural export sector.
