Kyrgyzstan plans production zone on land transferred by Uzbekistan

Kyrgyzstan is planning a new production zone on a 105-hectare plot transferred by Uzbekistan, according to Osh City Hall.

City officials and representatives of the Defense Ministry inspected the site to assess whether it is suitable for the project. They are also evaluating the territory’s potential and how facilities could be positioned and connected logistically.

The land transfer follows an agreement signed by the foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in November 2022 covering specific sections of their shared state border. In January 2023, during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Bishkek, the two countries’ presidents exchanged instruments of ratification.
