Kyrgyzstan President Japarov demands harsh punishment for 'enemies of the people'

Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov has issued a stern warning, demanding harsh punishment for those he identifies as "enemies of the people." Speaking at Ala-Too Square during a security forces' roll call for the upcoming SCO Summit and World Nomad Games, Japarov stated that individuals influenced by external forces and receiving money from them, aiming to destabilize Kyrgyzstan, will face no mercy.

Japarov stressed that "iron discipline" is crucial for the country's development. He called on law enforcement agencies to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and responsibility. To maintain public order during the international events, a security operation named "Security Operation" has been launched.

This operation involves approximately 15,000 personnel from various security and law enforcement bodies, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Prosecutor’s Office, Tax Service, Customs Service, State Penitentiary Service, Border Service, and Judicial Department. These forces have been placed on high alert.

We must severely punish the few enemies of the people among us who, having fallen under the influence of external forces and receiving money from them, want to destabilize the country and sow panic among the population. There will be no mercy for such people.

The president instructed the security forces to prioritize the safety of both citizens and foreign guests, preventing any offenses in public areas and event venues. He also urged officers to treat people politely and provide prompt assistance. Japarov described maintaining public order under these circumstances as a significant responsibility of national importance, not merely a routine duty.

Additionally, Japarov announced that security agencies will receive new equipment and resources to strengthen their capabilities. Efforts are also underway to improve their material base, increase salaries, expand social support, and integrate digital technologies.
