Kyrgyzstan proposes relocating Wildberries warehouses

Temir Sariev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, has proposed establishing Wildberries logistics facilities and warehouses within Kyrgyzstan. This initiative emerged during a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Business Council, where discussions focused on achieving a $5 billion trade turnover between the two nations.

Sariev highlighted three primary obstacles hindering trade: bureaucratic hurdles and regulatory discrepancies in labeling and documentation, which lead to repeated inspections; border delays caused by uncoordinated sanitary checks and resulting queues that spoil goods; and marketplace risks. The latter was underscored by recent emergencies, including fires and drone attacks on Wildberries warehouse hubs in Russia, which have directly impacted Kyrgyz producers.

"Placing warehouse infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan is not only about economics but also about risk diversification," Sariev stated, emphasizing that concentrating products in a single location poses significant risks. Kyrgyzstan's authorities have also expressed readiness to support Kyrgyz entrepreneurs who suffered losses from warehouse fires by offering preferential loans.
