Kyrgyzstan ranks 87th in Legatum Prosperity Index

Kyrgyzstan has been placed 87th out of 161 countries in the latest Legatum Prosperity Index, a global ranking that measures national well-being and economic strength. The index assesses various pillars of prosperity, and Kyrgyzstan's performance was rated highest in the categories of security, healthcare, education, and living conditions.

While the overall ranking places Kyrgyzstan in the lower half of the index, its performance in specific areas indicates relative strengths. The index compilers noted positive aspects within these key sectors, suggesting areas where the country is performing better than its overall position might imply.

Compared to its Central Asian neighbors, Kyrgyzstan's ranking places it in the middle of the group. Kazakhstan secured the 66th position, followed by Uzbekistan at 94th, Tajikistan at 129th, and Turkmenistan at 150th. This regional comparison highlights varying levels of prosperity across the Central Asian nations.

Globally, the top three countries in the Legatum Prosperity Index were Switzerland, Norway, and Ireland, indicating leading nations in overall well-being and economic success. Eritrea was ranked last on the list. The United States was placed 17th, while Russia ranked 103rd. Notably, Ukraine was not included in this year's rankings.
