Kyrgyzstan's 35th independence anniversary celebrated in Ulupamir, Turkey

The village of Ulupamir in Turkey's Van Province hosted the 12th cultural festival commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Kyrgyz Republic's independence. The event, organized with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, brought together dignitaries and community members from both Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

Participants emphasized the special importance of Kyrgyzstan, Turkey relations, based on shared historical, cultural, and spiritual values, as well as the role of the ethnic Kyrgyz of Ulupamir in preserving national traditions, their native language, and cultural identity.

Key attendees included Ruslan Kazakbaev, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkey, and Kürşad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party and Head of the Department of Foreign Relations with Turkic Countries. Members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the Governor of Van Province Ozan Balcı, and representatives from local governments also participated. The festival underscored the special importance of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey relations, built upon shared historical, cultural, and spiritual values.

Ambassador Kazakbaev conveyed congratulations on behalf of the Kyrgyz President and people, highlighting the nation's achievements during its sovereign development and the reforms implemented under the "New Kyrgyzstan" policy. He also noted the robust comprehensive strategic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, emphasizing the symbolism of the current year, which marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kyrgyz people, Ambassador Kazakbaev congratulated the participants on the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan’s independence, noting the country’s achievements over the years of sovereign development and the political, economic, and infrastructural reforms implemented as part of the «New Kyrgyzstan» policy.

The festival particularly celebrated the role of the ethnic Kyrgyz community in Ulupamir. Participants recognized their vital contribution to preserving national traditions, the native language, and cultural identity. The event concluded with a vibrant cultural program, featuring performances by creative groups from Kyrgyzstan, musicians, dance troupes, equestrian competitions like kok-boru, and an exhibition of traditional crafts and cuisine.
