Kyrgyzstan Tests Auto Route Through China to Pakistan's Karachi Port

Kyrgyzstan has marked a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance regional connectivity and trade by successfully completing a pilot transport route that links the nation to the port of Karachi in Pakistan, traversing through China. This achievement, announced by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, is a crucial step in realizing the country's strategic vision for developing international transport corridors.

The newly tested route, stretching 3,300 kilometers, begins in Bishkek, passes through the Torugart border crossing into China, and continues via Kashgar, Khunjerab, and Islamabad before reaching its destination at the port of Karachi. This initiative is designed not only to expand Kyrgyzstan's logistical capabilities but also to provide a vital, direct gateway to global maritime trade routes, thereby stimulating economic growth and facilitating foreign commerce.

This endeavor aligns with the broader objectives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states, as highlighted during the XIII meeting of Transport Ministers.
