Kyrgyzstan to Build Year-Round Mountain Resort with $128 Million Investment

Kyrgyzstan is set to develop a significant year-round mountain-tourism cluster, dubbed Baytik Mountain Resort, following the signing of a trilateral public-private partnership agreement. The project will be located in the Kaska-Suu village in the Chuy region, aiming to transform the area into a major tourist destination.

The comprehensive resort plans include extensive ski infrastructure with artificial snow systems, various summer recreation zones, hotel complexes, restaurants, SPA facilities, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) centers. Additionally, the development will encompass essential engineering, transport, and digital infrastructure to support the cluster's operations.

The total estimated cost for the Baytik Mountain Resort project is $127.9 million. Funding will be secured through a strategic partnership with China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC) under an EPC+F model, credit lines from Eldik Bank, private partner contributions, and other legally permissible sources.

This ambitious project is projected to create at least 1,500 jobs during its construction phase. Upon completion and operation, it is expected to provide a minimum of 800 permanent jobs, with at least 80 percent of these positions reserved for Kyrgyz citizens. The first phase of the resort's infrastructure is anticipated to be operational within 4 to 5 years, marking a substantial step in enhancing Kyrgyzstan's tourism potential as a year-round destination and attracting long-term investment.
