Kyrgyzstan Unveils Plans for New Resort in Ak-Suu Gorge

Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Construction has revealed ambitious plans to develop a new resort in the scenic Ak-Suu gorge, aiming to enhance the country's tourism infrastructure. The proposed курортно-оздоровительный комплекс (resort and health complex) is designed to accommodate 200 guests and is envisioned as a significant addition to the region's recreational offerings.

The project, developed by the department of urban planning and architecture, is strategically located at an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level. The complex's design incorporates various types of tourist accommodation, including three hotel buildings, four apart-hotel blocks, nine individual cottages, and nine guest houses. This diverse range of options aims to cater to different traveler preferences and budgets.

Beyond accommodation, the resort will boast extensive recreational and wellness facilities. Plans include a comprehensive sports complex featuring an alpine climbing center and a universal sports hall. Additionally, a dedicated children's center will cater to younger visitors, while a modern SPA center with a thermal zone promises relaxation and rejuvenation for all guests. The development emphasizes integrating modern infrastructure with the natural landscape.

In developing the project, special attention was paid to the unique characteristics of the mountainous terrain, prevailing climatic conditions, and the necessity of preserving the natural landscape. The ministry stated that this approach will significantly expand the tourist potential of Ak-Suu, attract both domestic and foreign investment, and establish a contemporary, eco-friendly infrastructure for leisure. The initiative seeks to position Ak-Suu as a premier destination for domestic and international tourists.
