La Albirroja travels to the World Cup: departure time and flight details for fans

The Paraguayan national football team, affectionately known as 'La Albirroja,' is set to depart for the World Cup in the United States this Saturday, sparking significant anticipation among fans eager to support their squad. While the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) is not organizing an official caravan, sponsors and supporters are planning their own send-off to accompany the team to the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport.

Nelson Mendoza, president of the National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (Dinac), confirmed the team's flight details. The Boeing 737 is scheduled to take off at 10 PM, embarking on a direct journey to San Jose, California. The team will convene at the Ñu Guasu Olympic Park at 8:30 PM before heading to the airport, with expectations of a large crowd gathering to bid them farewell.

Beyond the official team travel, there is a notable surge in demand for flights among fans wishing to attend the World Cup. Dinac reports three confirmed charter flights from Asunción, alongside a significant increase in bookings for commercial flights. Many supporters are opting for routes with layovers in cities like São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Panama to reach the United States.

Mendoza anticipates a substantial rise in air traffic throughout June and potentially into July, especially if La Albirroja performs well and advances through the tournament stages. This projected increase in passenger flow highlights the widespread passion and commitment of Paraguayan fans to follow their team's World Cup journey.
