La Paz Expone Brings Together More Than 600 Companies and Targets $50 Million in Business

More than 600 companies are gathering in La Paz for a fair that organizers expect to turn commercial contacts into more than $50 million in business opportunities. La Paz Expone’s ninth edition opened at the Chuquiago Marka Exhibition Center and will run through September 13.

The 11-day event brings together companies, producers, entrepreneurs and institutions from different sectors. Its program includes business meetings, sector exhibitions and the fourth International Logistics Integration Meeting. Organizers also expect around 100,000 visitors.

Economy and Public Finance Minister Christian Morales said the goal was to ensure that contacts made at the fair lead to transactions beyond the event itself and help national producers reach new markets. “Here, economic recovery stops being a concept and becomes a real activity,” he said at the opening.

President Rodrigo Paz highlighted the department’s productive and strategic potential, particularly in the north. He linked that development to the need for better infrastructure and market connections, announcing a projected investment of more than 17 billion bolivianos over the next five years for roads, bridges and other infrastructure.

The government says improved connectivity should support production and help businesses and producers from La Paz reach national and international markets. Production, Sustainable Development, Environment and Water Minister Óscar Mario Justiniano said fairs give companies and ventures a chance to display their products, build commercial contacts and seek opportunities to expand. Rolando Kempff, president of the Federation of Private Entrepreneurs of La Paz, said businesses wanted to continue coordinating with the government to support economic recovery and job creation.
