Lagos APC deputy gov candidate James expresses gratitude for nomination

Damilola James, the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate for Lagos State, has voiced her gratitude following her nomination. She attributed her selection to divine providence and the inclusive political landscape of Lagos.

In a statement shared on her X handle, James described her nomination as a testament to the "endless possibilities that have defined our Lagos" and expressed hope that her journey would inspire others. "As a woman of faith, I have no doubt that God is the architect of our lives," she said, thanking God for His benevolence.

James extended her appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for their support and leadership, noting the president's role in deepening democratic values and strengthening the nation's economy. She also acknowledged the support of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his wife Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and the APC governorship candidate Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and his wife.

Further acknowledging the party's leadership, elders, and members, James specifically thanked the Governance Advisory Council, led by Prince Tajudeen Olusi. She also expressed gratitude to traditional rulers, community leaders, grassroots mobilisers, women leaders, youth groups, and party supporters across Lagos. James paid a special tribute to the people of Badagry and Badagry West, whom she had previously served, stating their encouragement had been a constant source of inspiration. She dedicated her nomination to women, youths, and aspiring leaders, seeing her emergence as a catalyst for greater participation in governance.
