Lagos diverts traffic for road reconstruction at Anthony Village

Lagos State is undertaking a significant road reconstruction project at Anthony Village Bus Stop to address persistent damage caused by heavy rainfall. Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, announced a temporary traffic diversion plan to facilitate the work.

The affected section of the road will be rebuilt using interlocking stones, a more durable material designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. This intervention is intended to provide a lasting solution to a recurring problem that has plagued the area.

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation wishes to inform the motoring public that excavation works are currently ongoing at Anthony Village Bus Stop. The project is aimed at providing a lasting solution to the section of the road that has been repeatedly damaged by heavy rainfall. As part of the intervention, the affected section will be reconstructed using interlocking stones to improve its durability.

Motorists traveling from Fadeyi towards the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway via Anthony Village will be rerouted. Similarly, those using the Anthony Village service lane to reach Oshodi are advised to stay on the expressway and find alternative connections further ahead. Drivers heading from Oshodi towards Anthony-Ikorodu Road should also note that direct passage through the project site is currently unavailable.

The state government urges road users to plan their journeys in advance, avoid the immediate vicinity of the bus stop and service lane if possible, and utilize alternative routes. Patience and cooperation are requested throughout the reconstruction period.
