Lagos police arrest 147 suspects, seize weapons in crime crackdown

Lagos State Police Command has arrested 147 suspects and seized various weapons and illicit substances during coordinated raids on criminal hideouts across the state. The operation, dubbed "Operation KO S’AYE III," targeted suspected havens for hoodlums and criminal elements terrorizing residents.

Those found to have committed criminal offences will be prosecuted accordingly.

The joint police operation, conducted early Sunday morning, July 19, 2026, focused on areas including Boolar and Super Ile-Epo. Acting on intelligence, operatives raided identified black spots, leading to the apprehension of numerous individuals.

Items recovered from the suspects include 250 expanded cartridges, five battle axes, 22 machetes, two knives, a pair of scissors, a lighter, assorted charms, and substances believed to be Indian hemp. The police stated that all arrested suspects are in custody, and investigations are underway to determine their specific involvement in criminal activities.
