Lagos Police Arrest Six After Viral Video Shows Motorist Harassment

The Lagos State Police Command has detained six individuals after a video circulated online showing miscreants allegedly harassing motorists and attempting to damage a vehicle.

The command's spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the arrests on Thursday, stating that the suspects were apprehended on the same road where the incident was captured. She noted that the police were already aware of and actively working to curb such activities before the video gained traction.

The command wishes to clarify that it had already been on the lookout for, and taking proactive measures against, miscreants involved in such activities even before the said video surfaced online.

"Following the incident captured in the video, six suspects have been arrested on the same road, and investigation is ongoing," Adebisi said. She added that officers have been strategically deployed to increase surveillance and prevent similar occurrences.

The police spokesperson expressed gratitude to the public for bringing the incident to their attention and encouraged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to aid in keeping Lagos safe. The command reiterated its commitment to protecting motorists and all residents from criminal activities across the state.
