Lagos residents count losses after flooding nightmare

Lagos residents are grappling with extensive losses following days of torrential rain that triggered severe flooding across the metropolis. One such resident, Fatai Saheed, recounted his harrowing experience of being trapped for six hours in his commercial bus as floodwaters rose. He recalled a similar incident three years prior, which damaged his bus's engine, forcing him to borrow money for repairs. "I promised myself I would never make that mistake again," he stated, explaining his decision to park his bus and avoid flooded roads, even at the cost of a day's income.

This is not the first time we have complained about flooding here. It is getting out of hand. The government needs to find a permanent solution.
