Laisel Rai releases debut Nepali music video “Dhukdhuki”

Seventeen-year-old singer Laisel Rai has launched her first Nepali music video, “Dhukdhuki,” on Saturday. The release marks a significant step for the young artist, who has already gained recognition on India's reality singing show, Superstar Singer 2024, where she secured the 1st Runner-Up position.

The music video, directed by Bhishma Joshi and Yayavarism, showcases performances by actors Roshni Karki, Mahesh Tripathi, and Avon Raj Upreti. The song itself features music composed by Ujjwal Saagar, with lyrics penned by Harka Saud. Manzil Bikram K.C. handled the mixing and mastering, while Turban Beats in Punjab managed the audio engineering.

Rai, who is a scholar at the prestigious Shankar Mahadevan Music Academy, has prior experience releasing original songs in Hindi and Punjabi. Her debut into the Nepali music scene with “Dhukdhuki” is anticipated to resonate with a new audience.
