Lam Dong Urges Accelerated Progress on Phan Thiet Airport Construction

Lam Dong province leaders are pressing the developer to accelerate the construction of Phan Thiet Airport, a key infrastructure project for the region. During a site inspection, officials noted that while foundation work is underway, major components such as the passenger terminal and air traffic control tower are still in early stages of development.

Provincial Deputy Secretary Dang Hong Sy led the inspection, observing that the project involves clearing land, leveling the ground, and constructing technical infrastructure. However, the main structures have only begun pile driving, with their final form yet to emerge. The investor reported that significant time has been dedicated to completing legal procedures and preparing for construction, leading to the current focus on foundational work.

The investor assured provincial authorities that the project's timeline remains on track according to the investment plan. They requested continued support from provincial departments and agencies to swiftly address challenges, particularly concerning the supply of construction materials and the finalization of related procedures. This support is deemed crucial for expediting the project's progress.

Deputy Secretary Sy acknowledged the efforts of the investor and construction teams. He urged the investor to maximize resources, expedite construction while ensuring quality, safety, and environmental protection. Sy also called for proactive coordination with relevant agencies to promptly resolve any emerging difficulties, emphasizing the importance of timely approvals, especially for fire prevention and fighting systems, to ensure the airport's completion by its scheduled deadline.
