Lambaré firefighters launch annual collection aiming for G. 50 million

The Volunteer Firefighters of Lambaré are hitting the streets this weekend for their traditional annual collection, aiming to raise G. 50 million. This crucial funding will support the station's operational expenses, primarily covering fuel, essential supplies, and necessary maintenance.

The company depends heavily on the solidarity of the citizenry to remain operational throughout the year.

Volunteer Daniel Palacios highlighted the department's significant reliance on community generosity to remain operational year-round. He explained that the target amount would sustain the fire station for approximately three to four months, with major costs including fuel for emergency vehicles, supplies for rescues and accident responses, and infrastructure upkeep.

The goal is to raise G. 50 million, an amount that would allow us to sustain the fire station's operation for approximately three or four months.

Palacios noted a high incidence of traffic accidents in Lambaré, particularly at night, which escalates the consumption of first-aid materials and other vital intervention supplies. Beyond the annual collection, the company organizes raffles, barbecues, and pasta dinners to generate additional resources.

The volunteers will be fully identified with blue uniforms, yellow helmets, institutional credentials, and official donation boxes.

The collection will commence Friday at the Lambaré Municipality plaza and continue Saturday at major city intersections.
