Land dispute leads to fatal shooting; three arrested in Diyarbakır

Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with a deadly armed assault targeting a light commercial vehicle in the Ergani district of Diyarbakır. The attack tragically claimed the life of the vehicle's driver and left his wife severely wounded.

The investigation, launched by the Ergani Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, is ongoing following the shooting incident on May 31 in the rural Çukurdere neighborhood. The driver, identified as 51-year-old Hüseyin Ş., died at the scene, while his wife, S.Ş., sustained serious injuries.

Following their apprehension, the suspects, Z.Ş. (59), Z.Ş. (30), and S.Ş. (27), along with another individual, M.Y. (40), underwent proceedings. After completing their procedures at the gendarmerie, the three suspects were brought before the court. A judge ordered their detention, while M.Y. was released under judicial control measures.

Reports indicate that the arrested individuals had a pre-existing feud with the victims stemming from a land dispute. This motive is central to the ongoing investigation as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the fatal attack.
