Land Rover Defender OCTA Black debuts in Taiwan with limited V8 power

Land Rover has introduced the 2026 Defender OCTA Black to the Taiwanese market, presenting a uniquely menacing aesthetic with its "ultimate black" design theme. This performance-oriented flagship off-road SUV is limited to just five units nationwide, with a starting price of NT$8.58 million, which includes a five-year original manufacturer maintenance package.

The Defender OCTA Black boasts a striking exterior, featuring a high-gloss Narvik Black finish as its exclusive color. Buyers can opt for a satin protective film for an even more personalized look. Key elements like the grille, Land Rover emblems, front and rear skid plates, exhaust tips, and underbody protection have all been treated to gloss and satin black paint. This is complemented by 20-inch forged wheels, also in a black finish, enhancing its luxurious and powerful presence. Optional 22-inch wheels are also available.

Inside, the black design theme continues, creating a cabin that is both luxurious and exhilarating. It introduces a combination of Ebony semi-aniline leather and premium Kvadrat textile materials, promising top-tier comfort and feel. The seatbacks and armrest hinges are finished in Carpathian Grey, adding subtle highlights to the dark interior.

Under the hood, the Defender OCTA Black is powered by a formidable 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine, augmented by MHEV mild-hybrid technology. This powertrain delivers a robust 635 horsepower and 76.5 kgm of peak torque. The SUV can achieve 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4 seconds. Equipped with the 6D Dynamics air suspension system and a dedicated OCTA Mode, it promises exceptional handling and performance, whether navigating daily commutes or tackling challenging off-road terrains.
