Large Landslide Blocks Road in Narvik, Norway; No Injuries Reported

A significant landslide has blocked a road in Råndalen, Narvik, Norway, covering an estimated 50 to 60 meters of the roadway with earth and debris. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.

Operasjonsleder Kai Henriks Eriksen of the Nordland police district stated on the police log that the landslide came down along the mountainside, potentially washing out the road. He noted that the road is "naturally blocked by earth masses." While the exact number of people within the affected area is unknown, police are aware that there are several houses and cabins located on the southern side of the slide.
