Large parts of eastern Norway airspace to close during King Harald’s funeral

Large parts of the airspace over eastern Norway will be closed from Tuesday to Thursday in connection with King Harald’s funeral, Oslo police said.

The restrictions will apply to all aircraft except necessary critical aviation and ordinary scheduled services. Drones and small aircraft will not be allowed to fly in the affected areas without special permission.

The police said the measures aim to help the funeral take place safely and with dignity. The Norwegian Armed Forces will assist with enforcing the airspace restrictions.

Police director Håkon Skulstad urged drone operators to study the restrictions carefully and comply with them. Exact details of the affected areas and times will be distributed through the aviation sector’s normal information channels.
