Las Minas Closes National Festival of the Flower of the Holy Spirit With Cart Parade

Las Minas ended its National Festival of the Flower of the Holy Spirit with a colorful cart parade, bringing together representatives from the district’s corregimientos in Herrera province.

The celebration centered on the Flower of the Holy Spirit, Panama’s national flower. Organizers also sought to promote Las Minas’ traditions and cultural expressions. An orchid house stayed open throughout the festival and welcomed numerous visitors.

The parade marked the close of the festivities and became one of the event’s most anticipated moments. Before the procession began, festival queen Alejandra Bonía Batista spoke about her excitement at fulfilling her dream of representing the celebration.

Batista said she felt proud to represent her homeland, its cultures and its traditions. She also thanked God and the people who supported her during her time as queen. The festival concluded with a renewed effort to keep local traditions alive and give greater prominence to one of Panama’s natural symbols.
