LASK Completes Stunning Comeback to Reach Champions League for First Time

Austrian club LASK has qualified for the Champions League for the first time in its history, achieving a remarkable comeback against Celtic. After a 3-0 victory in the first leg, Celtic took a 1-0 lead in Linz, seemingly putting them on track for progression. However, LASK staged an astonishing turnaround, ultimately winning the second leg 5-1 after extra time to secure their place in Europe's elite club competition.

Celtic's initial advantage was erased by a LASK equalizer just before halftime, followed by two second-half goals that put the Austrian side ahead. Florian Flecker's late equalizer in the 90th minute forced the match into extra time, where Samuel Adeniran scored his second goal of the game in the 109th minute to seal the dramatic victory. Celtic's misery was compounded when Adeniran missed a penalty in the 115th minute.

In other Champions League playoff matches, Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt comfortably defeated NEC 3-0 at home, advancing after a 3-1 first-leg win. A key moment in that tie was NEC's goalkeeper receiving a red card in the third minute. Meanwhile, Sabah of Azerbaijan also secured a maiden Champions League appearance, overcoming Hapoel Be'er Sheva with a dramatic 5-2 extra-time win in the second leg, overturning a first-leg deficit.
