LASU resolves missing results row, assures students of graduation

Lagos State University (LASU) has resolved a controversy surrounding missing results for graduating students in its English Department. The university confirmed on Sunday that all outstanding results have been uploaded, ensuring that students who have met all academic requirements will graduate as scheduled.

Following an enquiry by the University Management into the allegation concerning the non-upload of results of some graduating students in the Department of English, the University wishes to clarify that the Department has uploaded all outstanding results as of Sunday, 23 August 2026.

The clarification comes after allegations surfaced on social media, amplified by an X user, claiming that over 100 students faced delayed graduation due to unuploaded results. These claims suggested that some students might have to spend an additional year at the university.

Consequently, all students who have fulfilled all requirements for graduation will graduate with their peers in the just-concluded 2025/2026 academic session.

LASU management had previously acknowledged the complaint on Saturday and initiated an inquiry. In its statement on Sunday, the university assured that no qualified student would be unnecessarily delayed. It also clarified that any student whose result remains outstanding after the recent upload has not yet fulfilled the necessary graduation criteria and should complete them accordingly.
