Latvia has sounded the alarm, activating drone alerts after an unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle was detected within its national airspace. This incident, confirmed by the Latvian military, adds to a growing pattern of airspace violations in the Baltic region.

Just a day prior, Lithuania reported a similar drone incursion, prompting public warnings and military responses. Earlier in the week, Estonia also registered a drone in its airspace, which was subsequently shot down by a NATO aircraft. These repeated incursions raise significant security concerns for the region.

The involvement of NATO forces in these incidents underscores the heightened geopolitical tensions. While the origin and intent of these drones remain unclear, their presence in the airspace of NATO member states necessitates a vigilant and coordinated response from the alliance.
